Boyd Coddington

boyd coddington

We just got word that world-renowned car customizer, Boyd Coddington died this morning around 6 am. Although we don’t have any details on what caused Coddington’s death, we do know that he was in and out of the hospital over the past month. A spokesperson for the Coddington Corporation confirmed his passing earlier today and they’ll be releasing a statement soon.
Our heartfelt condolences to his friends, family and fans.
I’m really sorry to hear that, he seemed like a good guy.
All the best to his family.
Perhaps his beard attacked him?
I kid, I kid.
A sad day for sure. I’m sure he’ll be missed in the hot rod world.
I used to really enjoy his show. He didn’t look too well to me in the last season — his body looked bloated.
Wonder what’ll happen to Duane?
A sad day for the hot-rodding world.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. Boyd will never be forgotten.
May his spirit, and vision live on.
He was one of those few people whom i looked up to and respected. My condolences to his family and friends.
A bad day for free thinkers everywhere:
First WFB, now Boyd Coddington.
Agreed. Godspeed Boyd and Buckley, you’ll both be missed.
To bad. The guy was a legend in Hot Rodding, he built some truly beautiful cars. My personal favorite was the original Boydster
He was a total a$$hole in person, but he certainly did sub-contract some nice cars. RIP big guy.
I remember seeing a Boydster at my first car show, not really knowing anything about cars, being so young. Seeing that car made me want to spend the rest of my life working on, dreaming of, and talking about cars.
This man and his work inspired me, and I wish I could have thanked him for that. I was hoping I could shake his hand some day, maybe even fabricate for him.
If you ask his wife, I’m sure the name Foose would come up as one of the things that led to his death. The two were far from friendly, with many of Boyd’s staff now working for Foose. I’m sure it had a lot to do with their personalities, but still, seeing some of your trusted friends leave to work for another of your former trusted friends turned enemy can’t be good for your stress level or heart health.

The most upsetting thing about this is the terribleness of that site. Ugh.

  5. Tiffani Says:

Foose wins!I appreciated his work, many people think he was an ahole, but he was running a business and for the most part the people he hired were immature. He did lose a few good men though.
