  1. Orson Says:

The debt is the cumulative sum of all the deficits. We had a surplus in the yearly budget in the couple of years at the end of the Clinton presidency, but those weren’t nearly enough to offset the debt incurred under previous Presidents, particularly Reagan.

  2. Buddy Says:

Well, when is it right to expand the amount of money in the circulation?

  3. Tawny Says:

Great to see the reviews coming in. Keep up the good work. This thing is going to take off.

  4. Angelia Says:

Uh, excuse me. But what about the 50 TRILLION in unfunded social security and medicare obligations that isn’t even counted in that chart!

  5. Teri Says:

    And population.

  6. Jobeth Says:

This film makes me happy inside. I can’t wait until it is unleashed upon the world.

  7. Nichola Says:

I have never seen a movie that has kicked so much ass this one. Finally, out on DVD! About time, dammit!

  8. Pansy Says:

Interesting comment: The only people to blame are the US citizen. We are probably the dumbest people, we beleive the goverment will take care of us and watch over us, they sure have screwed the American public with their spending…This isn’t so much untrue as misleading - the problem isn’t that Americans believe their government will take care of them and watch out for them - the problem is that Americans don’t notice when their government doesn’t do that.

  9. Peregrine Says:

Either way, Reagan started it.Worst. President. Ever. (until now)

  10. Gervase Says:

Umm, this graph is meaningless. Adjust for inflation and graph the debt as a percentage of GDP. Then you will have something.Edit: Something like this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:US_Public_debt_per_GDP_1791-2006.svg

  11. Bessie Says:

now that the dollar is in the crapper, it’s a good time to pay it off!!

  12. Raven Says:

Added to my Netflix cue the day the announcement arrived in my inbox, and I won’t even ripoff the guys and burn it. It’s a quality film worth spending my time and money on, and in these days, that says a ton.

  13. Brandi Says:

Heart-felt, heart-warming and great fun. Its genuineness makes you want to come alive again.

  14. Nanette Says:

Still tells the same story. Reagan was a huge spender, Bush I kept up the pace, Clinton came in and the spending eased, then Bush II came in and turned on the spending taps again.

  15. Rufus Says:

Good chart. % of GDP is always a much better metric, but for some reason people lap up charts like the one linked. I wonder if I could get a graph of the US Gross Domestic Product in the past 25 years onto the front page of reddit. Probably not.
