Runescape
It seems that the problem-prone Easter Bunny is once again experiencingdifficulties. He’s spent so much time redecorating his warren that he hasn’tnoticed critters burrowing in and devouring his entire chocolate stockpile.
Now, devoid of cocoa stocks, the chocolate egg production has ground to a haltand the forecast for Easter celebrations looks bleak. No need to worry, though -the Easter Bunny is an inventive sort, and has come up with an eggs-emplary newidea: use a chocatrice! These fearsome creatures, incubated from achocolate-coated cockatrice egg, can turn their targets into chocolate with onelethal, chocifying gaze.
It falls to you, then, to create this curious creature. You’ll need to trackdown some of the lost chocolate to make a chocatrice egg and then carefullyincubate it. The critters who ate the chocolate supply are sealed in the EasterBunny’s tunnels and will prove a suitable target for your chocatrice.
So, this Easter, you will come to the aid of chocolate lovers everywhere, incubating your own chocatrice, guiding it around the Easter Bunny’s tunnels andturning the greedy rats into something altogether more delicious…
Where to start the Easter Event 2008:
Investigate the rabbit hole, between Falador’s southern gate and the Rimmingtonmine.
None - this update is available to members and F2P!
A new emote and Easter item!
In other news…
The music system now has a counter which keeps ‘track’ of how many songs you’veunlocked. You’ll have the Air Guitar emote in no time!
Players will now always receive a TzHaar fire cape and 8,000 TokKul afterdefeating TzTok-Jad. You can keep any extra fire capes you win as spares in caseyou lose them, or speak to TzHaar-Mej-Jal, master of the Fight Cave, who willpurchase spare fire capes from you for 8,000 TokKul a piece.
We’re constantly looking at item prices on the Grand Exchange and how they matchup with similar items and those that are unfinished versions of other items.Prices for some of these sorts of items have been adjusted following thispattern. For example, an unstrung necklace will more closely follow the price ofthe strung version.

The “best way” to quit anything is to quietly do it, do it completely and firmly, and not to make some ridiculously overblown “event” out of it. People that make a big scene about their quitting of ANYTHING (be it games, drugs, alcohol, or whatever) are always the first to relapse.I have to say that, on a somewhat unrelated note, I’m curious about the amount of MMO gamers who have begun to crawl out of the woodwork to claim ‘addiction’ lately. Is this truly a legitimate social trend? Or are we just seeing a new enclave of disenfranchised youth attempting to put a face to their existential angst? While I can understand the appeal of the multiplayer nature of these games, it seems that a good portion the people who cry ‘addiction’ are doing nothing more than attempting to cast their own character flaws as some kind of insidious attempt from the outside world to ‘ruin their lives.’ It seems less like an honest critique of the genre, or their situation, and more of an attempt to recast the “gamer” archetype from ’socially awkward loner’ to ‘totally rebellious badass living on the edge.’ It seems to me that certain people have the concept in their heads that gaming being ‘dangerously addictive’ provides them with a new sort of identity as an edgy and fearless individual — It really reminds me of the kids from when I was in school who would lie and exaggerate about being ‘cokeheads’ or ‘alcoholics’ as a form of social currency.

to add on to my previous post, i think that MMO’s aren’t a bad thing if u play them in moderation. if u like it then do it. just don’t let it take over your life. I’m not just saying this because i play. there are a few times where i play WoW for 5 hours at a time. there are times were i just don’t play. i don’t do this cuz I’m addicted or the game is controlling me, its because i think its fun. if u like it then play, just don’t take it out of proportion. also, don’t give in to peer pressure. a lot of my friends tell me I’m such a geek and a nerd cuz i play and that i should quit immediately. i don’t! actually, i got 3 of my friends who said this 2 play cuz they liked it. so have fun, and don’t let ANY MMO take over your life.

This is probably fake. Why? Because he’s dissing the graphics and the players.

Yeah, it makes me sad when I see people waste so much time….GOOD FOR HIM

I have considered doing that with my Guild Wars account sooo many times. But the thought of leaving my lvl 20 Monk, lvl 20 Mesmer, lvl 20 Ritualist, all green weapons, rare armour and Gladiator rankings just makesme sort of ill.Still…. the addiction is very real. Anyone who thinks this sh*t is not as bad as drugs doesn’t understand how dangerous MMORPG’s are.And the funny part is, I *refuse* to play WoW, not because I think it won’t be good, but because I *know* it will be good. Crazy good. Thatfact terrifies me.Runescape? It looks crappy to me, but then again — there simply aren’t any MMORPG’s that come close to GW in terms of visuals…

He probably did quit to play a better MMO
Just kidding.I think it’s a good place to lampoon the born-again non-gamers. I have played a very popular MMO for 2 years so far (180 days of play time or so). I like it. It’s fun for me and I never run out of things to do. Say what you will about the time spent but during my time playing I have met people who played much more than I have.A few of those people ended up quitting. And, once they see the light they always say things like this man did. “Quitting was the best thing I ever did! How can you still play?! What’s the point of it all anyway?!”Well.. the point is enjoyment and time wasting. Of course if I ‘wanted’ to be productive in the time I have been playing the game, I wouldn’t be playing the game. And if I didn’t play the game, I would find another way to waste time. These things are diversions and the people who ‘break’ their ‘addictions’ and see the ‘light’ after doing so will only find another means for wasting time (be it TV, YouTube, Blogging, Digg, Poker, or what have you). (Although, when you play any game when something else in the realm not of diversions but of productivity (like paying taxes, picking your kids up from school, or writing your paper the night before it is due) you are truly addicted and you SHOULD look for that light).Anyway, I loathe self-righteous born-again non-gamers. They can’t pretend that they are all high and mighty just because they quit one addictive game. The addiction is in the personality not in the code.
