Easter celebrations across the Southland
LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Many churches across the Southland opened their doors for Easter vigil services Saturday night.
One of the largest gatherings was at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown L.A., where a large crowd of Roman Catholics gathered.
Cardinal Roger Mahony presided over the Mass, which included the lighting of the Easter candle and the blessing of the fire at the Easter fire hearth on Cathedral Plaza.
Sunday morning, Cardinal Mahony will celebrate Easter Mass at 10 a.m.

Thanks, this is interesting.Actually, I was taught and always thought that Easter came from “Ishtar” - the goddess of fertility… and so the obvious association of eggs. Also, Easter Gate or Ishtar Gate is decorated with flowers, and the Easter Eggs are often decorated in the same flowers.In the Babylonian pantheon, Ishtar “was the divine personification of the planet Venus”.

Just the ones that post here. The polite ones you probably encounter every day and have no idea that they are atheists.People I work with don’t know I’m an atheist, but if someone on Reddit spouts religious nonsense, I will comment on it.

Sad, but all too true in many parts of the world. These poor people have been duped by Satan’s lies, and it is our duty as Christians to help them see the true light of Christ.

This cartoon simply celebrates the Story of Easter, in which, after Jesus was laid for dead in the Holy Sepulchre, the Easter Bunny snuck in and gave gifts of Magic Eggs and Holy Peeps, which restored him to life three days later.
