The Boston Globe (www.bostonglobe.com) reported that, “Great American Group LLC has put in a $5.2 million stalking horse bid to buy the inventory of Domain Home and liquidate the furniture chain, which filed for bankruptcy protection last month.”
The article also noted that Great American also offered to pay an estimated $8.5 million to purchase Domain’s inventory at a discount and add an additional $75,000 to purchase additional inventory and provide working capital for the liquidation sales.
An announcement of the Chapter 11 filing for the 21 store chain based in MA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, MD and Va was posted to the news section of the furninfo.com site on January 21st.
